Teen ArtCamps

REGISTER FOR TEEN CAMPS BELOW

Tim offers Teen ArtCamps each summer for older students. ArtCamp is a great opportunity to really take your art passion for a spin and discover your talent. Whatever your skill level, whether it be beginner or advanced, you’ll benefit from ArtCamp! You’ll receive individual and group instruction as you learn time-proven techniques and skills to better help you create beautiful paintings. Each day is packed with lessons and info. Though it varies from camp to camp, here’s what a typical ArtCamp week looks like:

  • Monday AM: Welcome, introduction to drawing in charcoal from life. Focus on planes, shapes, & values.
  • Monday PM: Intro to portrait drawing in charcoal. Focus on draftsmanship, form, mass, light and shade.
  • Tuesday AM: Intro to oil painting. Focus on materials, mixing, technique, composition. Outdoor still-life.
  • Tuesday PM: Drawing the portrait in charcoal. Focus on drawing features of the face. Portrait.
  • Wednesday AM: The exciting world of Impressionist color theory! Individual critique and instruction. Also- textures. Outdoor still-life.
  • Wednesday PM: Drawing the portrait in charcoal. Focus on finishing, composition.
  • Thursday AM: Continued one-on-one instruction; focus on ‘heading to the finish line’ as we pull it all together. Group critique. Outdoor still-life.
  • Thursday PM: One-on-one critique and instruction on pulling the portrait together towards completion.
  • Friday AM: Oil painting. Focus on finishing, highlights, dark accents, even how to sign your work! Still-life; possible outdoor portrait.
  • Friday PM: Complete portrait. Prep for student show, including instruction on framing and presenting your work. Possible Friday option: Field trip to museum.

Yes, it’s packed, all right, but exactly the kind of challenge you’re looking for in an art workshop. To register, click on the Events on the left or select below:
