ArtShop: PAINT!

Paint- possibilities abound!

Pro artist Tim Chambers will teach kids ages 9-18 (parents welcome, too!) the essentials of painting technique at ArtShop:PAINT.  We all have seen exquisite paintings, whether they exhibit delicate detail or evoke rich emotion. Paint adds much dimension to our work, yet it takes a bit of skill to tame its potential. In this ArtShop, Tim will introduce you to the techniques that do just that. Students will work in acrylics and learn:

• preparing your paper/canvas for painting
• the mixing properties of paint
• use and care of your materials- brushes, palette, paint, painting surfaces, pencils
• preparation, including the reasons for a consistent palette layout,
• the selection and use of different brush types
• being versatile with your brush
• how to blend colors
• dry brushing
• glazing, and more…!
• art appreciation
• practice tips to continue learning at home until the next ArtShop!
