Add excitement to your art with color!
Pro artist Tim Chambers will teach kids ages 9-18 the secrets of mastering color at his all-day ArtShop.
Tim will continue training students in painting, focusing on the use of color in their art. Color can be intimidating even for professionals, but Tim will share tips to understand it and employ it in your artwork. “Color is fascinating!” Tim says. “There are things I’ve learned that simplify understanding how color works in the world around us. I’ll be sharing a bit about color theory as well as helping students begin to develop a discerning eye for color. This can open up new doors for creating as well as enjoying Creation!” We’ll learn:
- the development of color throughout art history
- how to recognize a color’s value and hue
- how to mix color
- to create and effectively use a color wheel and tint scale
- primary, secondary, and tertiary colors- how to mix & use them
- how to effectively use complementary colors in your work
- painting technique as we create a copy of a Master painting
- art appreciation
- practice tips to continue learning at home until the next ArtShop!
